Trustee Vacancies

The opportunity:

Knowsley Disability Concern (KDC) works to support people with disabilities to enjoy independence and live their lives to the full. We achieve this through the delivery of a range of activities, including support, advice, information and advocacy services. We aim to be person-centered in our approach, and involvement and engagement of and with our community of interest is seen as critical to our success.

KDC has an excellent reputation, an experienced and committed team of staff and volunteers and a healthy financial position.

We now need to strengthen our leadership to ensure that the opportunities and challenges of the current climate of change are managed effectively and we are seeking new trustees to join us and be part of a passionate and dedicated Board of Directors.

What we’re looking for:

We are interested in hearing from applicants who have business management, legal, financial, marketing or fundraising experience. Trustee candidates with direct experience of the challenges that having a disability can bring to daily life would be particularly welcome.

You will be creative, pragmatic, enthusiastic and optimistic with good independent judgment and the willingness to devote time and commitment to utilising your skills and experience to steer the delivery of our organisational strategy.

Commitment:

The minimum requirement is to be willing and able to attend four Board meetings a year plus the annual business planning away day. Involvement in at least one Board Committee will normally be expected, necessitating attendance at committee meetings four times a year. Time will also be needed to prepare for meetings and participation in Trustee learning and development and involvement in other activities will be encouraged.
