Individual Electoral Registration (IER)
From 10 June 2014, the way you register to vote has changed. The new registration system is called Individual Electoral Registration (IER). IER has been introduced nationally to help tackle electoral fraud and enable online registration, which will make it easier and more convenient for you to register to vote.
The deadline to register to vote in the general election is 20 April 2015.
Use this service to:
- update your name, address or other details on the electoral register
You need to be on the electoral register to vote in elections and referendums.
Registering takes around 5 minutes.
You’ll need your National Insurance number (if you have one).
