The Safer Knowsley Partnership has developed a range of measures to deal with incidents of hate crime or harassment and for supporting people who experience this form of abuse.
This means that people can report incidents to agencies they are familiar with. These agencies will support people, agree how they want the issue to be dealt with and ‘speak up’ on their behalf. These reporting centres are called ‘Speak Up Service’ in Knowsley and are based at independent and safe locations that are familiar to all sections of the community, such as council one stop shops and housing associations.
Hate crime can be reported in complete confidence at a Speak Up location, where residents can also receive invaluable support and advice.
